New product - 1 day/night survival pack, feedback please

Posted by: mark

Tagged in: Untagged

Hi,

We are putting together a small, lightweight survival pack for day hikers to be used if caught out overnight. After getting requests from people and feedback we have come up with the below list.

Remember the aim here is compact, lightweight and good to get you through the night to walk out the next day.

1. Mainstay 1200 food bar - 5 year shelf life 3 meals
2. two snap activated glow sticks - 2 year shelf life 12 hour glow
3. Waterproof match case that doubles as a whistle and flint (no matches included)
4. Pocket compact single use survival sleeping bag
5. 11 in 1 stainless steel survival tool

Once all items are in we will measure and weigh and put up the relevent details. We are looking at vacuum packing the kit to make it as easy as possible to transport and keep together

Any feedback appreciated.

Cheers

Hiya,

Due to popular demand feel free to mix your order around. If you buy a 3600 but want us to send out 3 x 1200 instead just let use know!

Same goes for any configuration you can think up, buy a 2400 and ask for 2 x 1200, buy a 3600 and ask for a 2400 and a 1200.

Any questions please feel free to contact us! bulk discounts also available through invoice.

Cheers

Hiya,

Just recieved a shipment of water purification pumps, very compact pumps with a replaceable ceramic filter. Supposed to be good for 2000 liters.
I am waiting on a delivery of watersafe water test kits from the US. I will be testing water samples, before and after and put the results up before putting them up for sale.

Nice Australian resource site www.survival.org.au

Wandering around the net i have just spent some time on www.survival.org.au

from the site "This site is for people who would like to learn about the self sufficiency, sustainable living, wilderness survival, and self sufficient living skills that people knew in ancient times before we became dependent on modern fossil-fuel-based technology."

Great site covering pretty much every topic around survival and self sufficiency. Well worth a look.

Cheers

Importing to save money!

Tagged in: Untagged

Thanks for all who have given feedback on hard to get survival items, Looks like there are a number of people who get together to import small numbers of hard to get items to Australia that are not available here.

For increased savings let me know what products/brands you would like me to look at importing in bulk to cut down on cost/shipping etc, quite happy to give discounts/free samples to people who identify camping and survival gear that I decide to import.

I'll just put whatever is left over on the website. Look forward to hearing from you!

Water purification

Posted by: mark

Tagged in: Untagged

Hi,

There has been a lot of interest in the Mainstay range of products and we have been fielding a lot of queries.  Thanks for all the feedback!
One of the recurring questions is regarding water purification.  I am currently on the lookout for carbon filtered water pumps and will be importing some in the next month or so.  I have some water purification tablets from Mainstay and will be adding them to the shop shortly.
If anyone has any input regarding water purification etc we would love to hear from you.

Cheers
